Steam-distilled hydrosol from lavender planted by us and grown on our land. We slow distill fresh lavender in a traditional copper alembic distiller pot.

Hydrosols are made by steam distilling plant material. This allows the cell walls to break down, thus releasing the plant’s oil content. The steam and oil are cooled causing the steam to turn to water and the oil to reside on top. Most people may be familiar with essential oils, hydrosols have similar therapeutic properties to their essential oil.
Hydrosol is NOT distilled water with essential oils added to them. In fact, the two would not mix. Hydrosol is very gentle on skin but with the therapeutic properties of essential oils.
